Vito and I were gonna be married. We wanted a baby after this mess was cleared up.

Ain't gonna happen. Don't know what happened to him or Nica, but they wouldn't just leave me like this. Not even after what Phillip said to them.

Phillip wasn't always that bad... it just happened slowly, and all built up to that last night. Lynn told him that she wasn't gonna let him kill me.

I owe my life to Max, Eric, Katie, and Rex. And Lynn.

1) List of team members

Russian Bob

2) What we need to do

-Organize groups
-Get Chester out
-Take over the CDC
-Have a town meeting
-Organize townsfolk into groups
-create defense plan for town
-organize sharing resources
-work on cure

3) Needed teams
-Escort team (defending people against attacks)
-Hunting team (actively seeking zombies to kill)
-Research team (working on a cure or treatment)
-technology team (work on solar power, digging wells, radios or phones)
-Weapons team (keeping weapons in order, working on bombs(no bombs), sharpening blades)
-Escape team (work on escape plan, just in case nothing else works)
-Ration team (make sure everyone has got what they need. Have to be fair)

4) Admit that this might not work. Suggest backup plans.

5) Back up plan suggestion - is that we do research, escort, and a limited tech/weapons/escape. We work on rations for just us.

6) Taking over the CDC means someone might have to die.

7) Find someone to be in charge (Eric?? Quinn??) . Mayor is worse than putting one of the kids in the lead. It's got to be a man, because no one listens much to women. Someone that we trust, that the townsfolk can trust.

8) Killing room floor

Eric: Honestly, I had an idea, if you want to hear it, to make use of the scrapyard as a killing floor, but it'd take some elbow grease. Basically, make use of the space and materials to build a series of reusable traps to cut up anyone fool enough to be baited in. Like a cutting blade powered by a heavy falling weight to cut across a narrow choke point, which is pulled back into place as the weight is cranked back up into position with a winch.

Eric: Hunter killer squads are good to keep the population down and keep morale up, but if there's a bunch for some reason, we need a way to cull a lot of them in a sweep. There would need to be more than one trap like that, a clear funnel, and a way out for the trap operators in case the problem isn't solved.

I got to put the situation into a list. I can't think otherwise. Maybe ask myself some questions.

1) What is the situation?

The government is using our town as a test, and there's zombies, and zombie russians after us. We're blocked off from everywhere and there's martial law.

2) Am I safe? Is my family safe??

No and no. I can't get my baby out of here, even if I could get past Phillip.

3) What can I do?

There's too many things that need to be done.

1)Stop the zombies.

How do we do this? They were people, so I don't like killing them, but they're already dead. I think, we should study, but not in the lab where people can steal all of our work. Can we make our own lab? We're all learning to use guns to shoot the zombies, and we've got shelter. Maybe a fence to protect the shelter.

2) Protect ourselves from Russians and the Government

We got guns. Need more if we can find them. Maybe a fence.. with barbed wire. We're going to need a safe room, or some way of keeping them out and us in and safe. Wish there was a way to grow food inside. I have to get Phillip on board because we need all the men we can find.

3) Get more people on board

How? I'm ready to hit half the town over the head most of the time, and me and Phillip can hardly talk without shouting and fighting. He blames this on me, how is it my fault?

4) Find out exactly what's going on, and if we're going to be stuck here forever

Something that someone else is gonna have to do.

5) Make dinner

Oatmeal. See how much he likes that. If he starts treating me like a person again, I MIGHT try to make something else.

6) Find some men to help me-

Why do I need to find men to help me do these things? All the ladies I know can solve ALL of these problems on the list. I'm tired of depending on them. Yes, Vito will help, and Fred and Mr.Chow(sometimes) are plenty nice. Even a few others, but all of us should be able to do everything.

7) Find a safe spot for just me and Lynn

That just won't work, so instead, when my head is on straight, I will have to look at this again and decide what can and can't be done.

Phillip said that dress had cost him $150 and that I better try to get the stains out of it.

Nothing worked, so I tossed it on the trash pile, and watched it burn. He talked to some of the other men, and doesn't blame me anymore for ruining the dress. He's going to make sure me and Lynn get some more gun lessons, and applauded me for making sure the shelter is stocked.

Meanwhile, I don't think I'll ever get to sleep, not after all that happened. Founder's Day started off not too bad. I didn't win anything, but I had fun.

Then some woman came running and screaming. Things were attacking and all I could think of was to keep Lynn safe, but I needed guns. So I sent her off and went on an automatic, trying to keep safe until I could see my daughter again.

I shot people, and there were some that.. well, the virus is transmitted via blood or saliva, and some were bitten. We haven't been able to find a cure.

I don't know what's going to happen next, but Phillip's just asked me to clean his dead wife's room and the nursery. I don't want to, but he's been very nice the past couple of days... Just like it used to be. Almost like it used to be.I got to go shopping for supplies too, hope that it won't be too hard leaving the town.

We're ordering in what we can, but he wants some fancy canned stuff that I can get out of the city.

To Do List

1) Tell Vito it might be a good idea to check out the dairy
2) Tell Katie to keep sure that Mr.Chow makes sure that cat won't spread zombie rabies to everyone
3) Apologize to Nica for taking Lynn away.
4) Thank Dr.Kenison for everything
5) Buy some supplies for the road from Mr.Chow
6) Ask Phillip for money.
7) Have a little talk with Max and say goodbye
8) Tell my friends that they better not get killed

I really should stay, shouldn't I? But I can't, not with all that is going on. It's not the smart thing and I know I'm no idiot.

What reason is there to stay? There's Vito, sure, but... I can't make a mistake again, not for a man, not for no one.

I've loaded our emergency suitcases, and will pack an additional bag for each of us, then I will let Phillip know my decision. I stayed with him because I had nowhere to go, and he promised to take care of us. Instead, I've been a maid for almost fifteen years.

Now there's the chance that either the government or this strange encephalitis will kill us, or that both will kill us. I'm not taking that chance. Lynn and I are leaving as soon as I finish talking to Phillip.

The others will be alright. They will. If nothing else, they can hole up in a bomb shelter until the zombies are gone. ...Zombies. They aren't real, but that's the only thing that makes sense. The group doesn't need an uppity colored woman anyhow. If I can't get to New York, Maybe there's Florida again, or some place in between.

My friends are going to be alright... they have to be. Maybe one I get settled, we can all visit.

I think I can create an FTL drive. Faster than light.

Phillip and I had a falling out last night, and I'm afraid that I left his room and slept in my own. This morning he told me that he must go out of town for a week. Lynn blames me for it, but I told her that what happens with Phillip has nothing to do with her.

If I can create that drive, then I'll be able to get away from this place. I'll find somewhere for me and Lynn (without Phillip!), and we'll be happy.

Bad news is that the car isn't working, and for the life of me, I cannot get it to start. I will fix that, but the rest of the housework can wait until someone bothers me about it.
