What reason is there to stay? There's Vito, sure, but... I can't make a mistake again, not for a man, not for no one.

I've loaded our emergency suitcases, and will pack an additional bag for each of us, then I will let Phillip know my decision. I stayed with him because I had nowhere to go, and he promised to take care of us. Instead, I've been a maid for almost fifteen years.

Now there's the chance that either the government or this strange encephalitis will kill us, or that both will kill us. I'm not taking that chance. Lynn and I are leaving as soon as I finish talking to Phillip.

The others will be alright. They will. If nothing else, they can hole up in a bomb shelter until the zombies are gone. ...Zombies. They aren't real, but that's the only thing that makes sense. The group doesn't need an uppity colored woman anyhow. If I can't get to New York, Maybe there's Florida again, or some place in between.

My friends are going to be alright... they have to be. Maybe one I get settled, we can all visit.

To Do List

1) Tell Vito it might be a good idea to check out the dairy
2) Tell Katie to keep sure that Mr.Chow makes sure that cat won't spread zombie rabies to everyone
3) Apologize to Nica for taking Lynn away.
4) Thank Dr.Kenison for everything
5) Buy some supplies for the road from Mr.Chow
6) Ask Phillip for money.
7) Have a little talk with Max and say goodbye
8) Tell my friends that they better not get killed

I really should stay, shouldn't I? But I can't, not with all that is going on. It's not the smart thing and I know I'm no idiot.
